Summary
Sentiment analysis is trying to answer the question: “What do people feel about a certain topic?” by digging into opinions held by many using a variety of automated tools. Bringing together researchers and practitioners in business, computer science, computational linguistics, data mining, text mining, psychology, and even sociology, sentiment analysis aims to expand the traditional fact-based text analysis to new frontiers, to realize opinion-oriented software.
In this crash course, we will develop a very simple software application in Python/Flask using the OpenAI API to analyze sentiments in textual samples available on MS Excel spreadsheets.

Speaker
prof. dr. Luís Mendes Gomes is an Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at the University of Azores.
